How to setup your Jtag to launch a different dash on start-up
Requirements
- Jtag with Xexmenu installed
- One of the following transfer methods: USB flash drive, FTP program, or Transfer cable
- You must login or register to view this content.

Edit Your launch.ini
Locate the launch.ini
installer/launch.ini
Open launch.ini and use the following to setup which dashboard you want to load by default, simply copy and replace the setup to your liking. If you use the files I provided and change nothing it will load Freestyle dash by default.

Transfer Files to your Jtag
USB flash drive TUT
Step 1
Download the links provided and place them on your USB flash drive, then move your USB flash drive to your Jtag and turn it on.
Step 2
Get to the xexmenu however you normally do.
When Xexmenu loads,
- press RB on the xbox controller
- press X
- select Usb0 and push A
Should look like thisSelect Freestyle, press Y, select Copy and press APress X, select HDD1 and press APress Y, select Paste and press APress X, select Usb0 and press ASelect installer and press ASelect default.xex and press AWhen it loads it should look like this, now press AWait until it finishes and Press A to shutdownAs a safety precaution, I unplugged the xbox for the back of the console for 10 secs, like when swapping keyvaults, plugged it back in and turned the xbox on. It should now boot into Freestyle Dash by default.
FTP program TUT
Step 1
Download the links provided and place them somewhere you have easy access to, I usually place them on the desktop.
Step 2
Open your FTP program (FlashFXP, FileZilla, ect..) and turn on your Jtag.
Locate the files you downloaded and connect to your Jtag, should look like this.Double click on Hdd1This is where you need to transfer the files to.Single click on FreestyleClick the Transfer iconSingle click on installerClick the Transfer iconBoth folders should now be on your Hdd1, and should look like this.You can now click the "Disconnect" icon and close the FTP program.Step 3
Go to your Jtag and locate Hdd1
Select installer and press ASelect default.xex and press AWhen it loads it should look like this, now press AWait until it finishes and Press A to shutdownAs a safety precaution, I unplugged the xbox for the back of the console for 10 secs, like when swapping keyvaults, plugged it back in and turned the xbox on. Updating FSD
This requires you to be connected to the internet, use an offline profile or disable connecting to live via the Family Settings.
Step 1
Enable Beta Updates, heres how.
Go to Utilities and select SettingsSelect General SettingsGo over and scroll down and check Enable Beta UpdatesNow when an update is available, you will get a message, like thisStep 2
When you get the message saying there is an update, go to Utilities and select SettingsSelect General SettingsSelect UpdatesSelect all available updates and click Y to apply updatesYou should get a message saying Updates have been added to the download queue.Let it download the updates, when it is finished a message will pop-up, select Restart FSDWhen it reboots push YLet it install the updates and when it says it finished, press any button to rebootIt will say RestartingStep 3
When it reboots, go to Utilities and select SettingsSelect General Settingsselect Reset Settingsselect Reset Skin SettingsSelect OKLet it do its thingIt will restart your skin back to default and you will have all the updates.
