Went into cod4 and my buttons still didnt work so I left the game. Went back in. On the Main menu before you go to multiplayer and you can player single player I hit controls> and button layout was blank so I went in and went to tactical and then back to default and it wasnt blank anymore. So I started up a game and my buttons were working. Whether or not this would work for you idk but it is worth the try

its not fixing the buttons problem i had, that simple, i keep a backup, its getting the actual UFO mode to work which i still cant do

Yeah the mistake I made is that I didn't even make a backup. I guess I will now that I have it fixed.

Also In the tutorial he has a typo. Whether or not that messes someone up or not but he mistaken set "gpad_sticksConf" for "set gpad_buttonsConf" in the tutorial.
