I am usually just in the middle of the game and I just stop and it says I have been disconnected from Xbox Live. After that I can sign in straight away but it's really annoying please let me know if this has been happening to you and if you know how to fix it!

your connection in your house blows it happen to me ethier your in a dead spot of Connection like i was or your router is just crap

happens to me when my wire moves cause its shit and half way chewed up by my dog

check your wires or if your wireless get a new router

Contact your Isp and explain your problem to them. I had this problem a while ago and I contacted them via internet chat. They reset something and it has worked fine ever since.
