I have E74 Error but this works for all Xbox360 errors.

Make sure you unplug all accessories. eg.HDD, wired controller, memory unit, wireless adapter etc.
I do not take any responsability for any xbox's being damaged as this has worked for me all the time.
I did not find this fix but however i do take all credit for this post!
TUT...
1. Find a long object about 4 inches long to stick in the holes at the back of the Xbox360.

2. Put the objects in the holes stopping the fans. Make sure the system is off at this time!.

3. Turn the console on until the light(s) are on the xbox then take the av cable out straight away.

4. Leave the system running for 10-15minutes.
5. When the top 2 lights are flashing take the objects out, then the fans should spin really fast and loud. Let them spin for 10-15 seconds until they go quiet.

6. Once they are quiet turn the system off and then plug everything back in.
7. Now turn it on and it should work, if not turn off then on again. If that still doesnt work then leave it for 5minutes to cool down.
