i'm thinking of getting an xbox this week and getting rid of ps3.

is this a good idea?

And when i get it what games do you think i should get ?

And should i get kinect?

It honestly depends on your particular gaming style and likes. The Xbox has an awesome Dashboard with a bit more stuff to do than the PS3's XMB. You can customize an avatar, chat with friends playing different games, watch Netflix in a theater with your friends, and more. On the other side, PS3 has Blu-Ray which allows for some games to have more content/better graphics.

If you do get an Xbox, I'd recommend Halo Reach and Battlefield Bad Company 2.

I dont' own a Kinect because when I game, I don't really feel like moving around. I can go outside and do that. But if you like moving around and playing using your body as controls, it looks like it would be worth it.

And if i am playing halo and my friend is playing bfbc2 can we talk through party with mic?

Netlix is a movie streaming service similar to Lovefilm in the UK. I'm not sure if the theater feature is available outside North America. And yes, as long as you are both in Party Chat (which requires an Xbox Live Gold membership) then you can both talk to each other while playing different games.

Microsoft requires you to get Xbox Live Gold to play in online matches through games and use a variety of features on the dashboard like party chat. With Xbox Live Gold there is a lot of benefits and things to do. So, I strongly recommend the yearly membership to Xbox Live Gold.

It is a good idea, xbox is a great console, they have an amazing virtually always online feature, although it costs money.

You should get all the usuals, CoD, Halo, Homefront, etc. and any other games in your favorite genre. There are more games for the xbox than any other console.

Don't get the kinect, its fun for a little while, but the games are cartoony and childish, many say its not the future of gaming.

It may not be worth it, that's really a decision based on your financial situation. If you have the money, and you want to be able to play with others (when they're not at your house) you're going to want Xbox Live Gold.

Its worth it if you love playing online or with friends, or subscribe to services like Netflix. The online game play is such a major aspect of games now, it can be very nice to have Gold.


Its really your choice, whether or not you feel like you have enough money to make it worth it.
