(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); So remember the whole "who-haa" regarding the price for the upcoming Halo 3: ODST title? You know, the whole, "it'll be value," "yada yada," "it'll now be full price."

Well UK retailer Argos currently has the title listed for £26.99 including delivery ... which effectively makes it a budget title for the UK folk. Fancy that!

A pretty damn good deal if you ask us, especially considering everywhere else in the UK has it listed for £40 and everywhere in the US has it listed at $60.

Let's just hope this turns out to be genuine and not some typical retailer mistake that they later retract. If the worst comes to the worst, you can cancel your pre-order and send a ton of complaints to Argos. So it's win-win.

Pre-Order Halo 3: ODST from Argos in the UK for £26.99.

[Update] So it appears the price seems to be a conscious move rather than a slip up. The captions at the bottom state two things:

1. "Argos will never knowingly oversell Halo 3: ODST." Ha!
2. "Current selling price valid until 24/07/2009"

So beware ... this offer is only open for a limited time. Quite a big window if you ask me, but it won't be like this forever ... so act fast! (Thanks Chris!)

Microsoft just announced that those who pre-order Halo 3: ODST from participating retailers will get Sgt. Johnson as a playable character in the Firefight mode found within the upcoming title.

What's Firefight you ask? Microsoft explains it as ...

"Firefight will put you to the test as you and your friends assume the role of an ODST squad and fight together to take on increasingly challenging waves of enemies. It’s where new “Halo” heroes will be born, and an opportunity to step into the boots of a legend."

We just say "horde."

I can just see it now ... a ton of Johnson's running around killing Covenant shouting "die you maggot!"

For those in the UK who preordered from the heads up regarding the cheap Argos price yesterday, I somehow doubt that you'll be getting this. Either way, which would you prefer, £13 in your back pocket, or a Sgt Johnson character in Firefight that you won't be able to see. I'm guessing the cash.
