I would get it if you didnt hvae to phone up to get your card details removed and if they didnt auto buy the live once its ran out

I did this when i first got xbox at the beginning of the summer and it just said "Your xbox live ends in September 12, would you like to auto-renew your live membership?" and I just hit no

On xbox.com just change your billing address, and credit card details to Chicago, Illinois Zip code 60601. Then go back to the My account screen on xbox.com and right next to your Microsoft points should be a thing to turn auto renewal off..


It worked for me a couple hours ago(not sure if it will for you), after it's off switch your information back.

Also you can remove your CC information after your gold account goes silver.
