I want to play on a higher gaming platform and from what i'm hearing is that Xbox is where it's at; because frankly ps3 gamers suck, well a few not all. There are some good people but really not a lot of competition. So I'm looking at the 360 slim because of the wifi etc. But the price... The price is what kills it. I was reading online that you could get a 4gb and plug any external sata or ata hardrive to it and it'll work? Can someone verify that for me. Because if thats the case then i'm going to just buy the 4gb for 199 rather than the extra $100.

Dont get the XBOX, get a PS3 slim and thats all :p if you want to get a xbox though yes you can switch hard drives...

Actually if you want a high end platform pc is where its at.
however I feel xbox is better than ps3 at first person shooter games.

250gb Slim is what i have. im pretty sure u can swap out hdds though

I bought a 4gb xbox360 slim after i got console ban on ps3 and then I realize that the 4gb was way too small so I had to buy the 250gb harddrive which set me back like 130 bucks so if you could just buy the 250gb one time way cheaper

I like the 4gb better cause of the MATTE black case...unlike the 250gb has the fingerprint case...also get 4gb and buy a 250gb HDD from the internet...ebay for like 35-50 USD...or you could wait untill the 320gb or 350gb whatever one comes out.
