Due to it's popularity on the Xbox 360, the next title in the franchise, Halo 4, has a good chance of being the hottest game in the Fall. But in order for Microsoft to achieve this, they're going to need to come out with some advertisements, like the one that you can watch below giving out a release date (November 21st, 2012), however, the major game developing company states it is a fake.

Console Gaming Examiner Scott Grill has contacted Microsoft on the matter, and was informed that "the video in question is not legitimate" by a company representative.

"This video is a fake and we have not yet announced the launch date for Halo 4," Microsoft's official statement reads. "Please stay tuned for more information."

This confirms the video trailer is indeed fake, anyone with common sense could identify that, after watching the video you'll notice there is no trace of story, setting, or theme, or even character. Secondly, the logo at the end of the video looks like a poor Photoshop job. And lastly, it is proven that a Halo title has never been released on a Wednesday, while November 21st (the supposed release date), is on a Wednesday, while the franchise usually releases the game on a Tuesday, with two odd releases on a Friday and Saturday.

It shouldn't be long for Halo 4 information to seep out of Microsoft's confidentiality, as the Spring Showcase is nearing on February 29th, and that's when details for the game are expected to be announced.

If you'd like to watch the video, here you are. Enjoy!
