A lot of information regarding 343 Industries' new title Halo 4 has been released lately, mostly from the developers themselves. It seems as if they're trying to "re-vamp" the Halo name, as the ongoing franchise has been getting dry over the past few years.

343 Industries' representative Frank O'Connor has commented about how Halo 4 may be grinding towards the first-person "parkour" realm, they got this idea from Splash Damage's unique game Brink, where the players have been granted the abilities to jump from wall-to-wall, and slide through any opening.

O'Connor also discussed (with OXM) about how the audio put into armor, such as Master Chief's well-known MJOLNIR armor, will have clean, cut, and clear sound effects, so you can hear it's legendary wonder.

Being asked how Halo 4 may be pointing towards a more environmental approach (such as Brink), O'Connor said,

"It's actually a combination of those things. Think about Incredible Hulk-like mass and... I'm trying to think of a mid-range, agile superhero to finish my metaphor."

He also described how in Halo 4 Master Chief works with physical attributes,

"He's a very massy character, but he's also very dynamic, and flexible, and athletic and can parkour with the best of them. But that's not going to be how we explore that physicality necessarily."

"There's a lot of different ways to approach how Chief interacts with the environment. He's still going to do all the usual things, jumping while shooting for instance, but there are some clues about some of the things you'll see in the [Microsoft Spring Showcase trailer]."

"It's one of the ways we want to keep surprising people throughout the series and the game."

This is an odd turn of events when it comes for Halo and their developers, as I'm sure you can't imagine being able to slide everywhere in a massively bulky armor set and having the ability to jump from wall to wall. A more reasonable addition would be to add more of a "flow" to the game, but keeping the parkour and ballerina stuff out.

Here's the Spring Showcase for Halo 4, brought to you by 343 Industries:
