however, if you're still under warranty, send it to microsoft for a free fix/upgrade.
if that's not an option, you could always check out craiglist to see if there's anyone around you're area who knows how to fix it. they'll probably only charge you like $30-$50 unlike the $100 MS will ask for if you're not under warranty.

Yeah true Microsoft seem to rip you off, there are plenty of fix it yourself video's on youtube though
just type it in and you'll see.

yea the solution process is rebailling which consists of changing the thermal paste of the core of the console, that might be able to fix it, but if it is really burned inside, then it's dead. I have a ps3 over here that got motherboard overheated and then there was no fix, but my 4 year xbox is still fine.
