(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); According to IGN MS is disregarding there own currency as a new dashboard update launches later this month.

The system that will be used is currently unavailable, However it is believed they will go with a real world cash system such as PSN.

Would be great like this, seems so much easier. I wonder if you can just buy any amounts? Like say you have £3 spare, you can buy £3 worth of points? Or is it set points like 5, 10, 15 etc..?

In the video on IGN it says never buy too many points again. My opinion is they have prepaid cards that you can deposit any amount on. For example say the cod maps are 15 bucks and you have 1 dollar, I guess you would be able to buy 14 bucks worth.

I always thought it would be much simpler like this.

Of couse the method that they will use is not clear at the moment that is my opinion.

You should just be able to buy what you want by putting money in, not having to purchase a minimum and have extra laying around.

Exactly why should you have to buy 20 bucks worth the points just for a 5 dollar game?

I think at least on Ps3, when you sync a card, it only grabs what it needs; Can't remember though.

You will be able to use regular currency on Windows 8, but unfortunately, Microsoft Points will remain the standard on the Xbox 360. Hope this clears things up. I am disappointed, as I too thought Microsoft Points were finally being phased out.

Like Storm said, plus everytime a dashboard update has come out here recently, we've heard this rumor.

MSP is going to be around for a long time. I doubt we'll see them disappear anytime soon.

If they didn't have points, they'd have the prepaid money cards like the PSN does, so you still wouldn't need a CC. :dumb:
