They've played this well, unlike Sony. Sony wanted to be the first out of the block like Microsoft did when the Xbox 360 was revealed. As far as I know the Xbox 360 console itself was actually shown on reveal night. The PS4 conference was boring as hell to watch. They talked about the features and the games weren't even games on the PS4!

Basically, Microsoft let Sony shoot themselves in the foot and now they'll take full advantage of it...hopefully.

In Flames Much?
Lets hope that MS don't make the same mistakes they did later on during the xbox life cycle.
Looking forward to this!

They didn't show the console because Sony main audience to inpress is the Japanese. They need it to be shiny and slick. Also what games there where not on a ps4.

The games were played on a PC that had mimicked the PS4 capabilities.

All consoles without design are in pc cases...Consoles are pcs..Xbox devs right now are playing on xbox hardware in a pc case. You think they send the final design to developers straight away?

First of all, that sentence didn't make sense. Number two, it was boring to me- it's my opinion, seems like NGU hasn't learnt about opinions yet. They showed a few features, in pictures and then some game play on a PC and didn't even reveal the console! Xbox will reveal the console and will some features in a live demo.
