Want to clarifying , gamer tag is not edited. It's part of the "share real name" feature. Microsoft doesn't stop the use of special character with your real name. Your gamertag however needs to start with a letter and can only contain letters and numbers A-Z & 0-9 , and spaces but can't end in a space.
