First announced during last month’s E3 2014, Halo: The Master Chief Collection brings together the best of the four mainline Halo games in one complete package, but also notably will include a revamped remake with Halo 2: Anniversary.
During this past weekend’s Rooster Teeth Expo, 343 Industries revealed a number of new information and updates that fans can expect to see in the revised version of the classic Halo 2, which celebrates its 10th anniversary this coming November.
The big item that 343 revealed during the expo is that the popular Halo 2 map Coagulation, originally a remake of the iconic Blood Gulch from Halo: Combat Evolved, will be one of the six remastered maps included with Halo 2: Anniversary, with the teams at both 343 Industries and Certain Affinity working to “reimagine” the map for the upcoming remake release. The six maps that will be remastered (with Ascension having also been previously announced as one of the included maps) are set to run at 60fps, with 1080p resolution intended.
Halo: The Master Chief Collection releases for Xbox One on November 11th, 2014 – screenshots for Coagulation are not currently available, but you can check out concept art of the reimagined Halo 2 map below:
