Are there any major casualties to jail breaking the iPod Touch 3G?

If I can remember correctly, I think I saw someone post that if you turned the 3G series of iPod Touches off, they would lose their jailbreak status?

Is there anything more to it than just the apps and the main features? How is the internet browsing? I can't be bothered reading any reviews.

Well i would not buy one now because if you update to 3.1.3 you cant jailbreak unless they release a newer methoud of jailbreaking!.

i would just buy a 2g there is not really a difference ecept that the 3g ipod is tethered o your right you cant turn it off but you can lock it!.

i have a ipod touch 3g, 8g. and mines jail broken. but its teathered, so i cant turn it off or let it die, i always charge it over night.. and u can put it in sleep mode, so its fine.. and if does turn off, u jus rejail break it, and you still have your stuff

I've had my iTouch for a year now and it's working like a dream..touch wood. I thought when I had bought it, I hope this isn't going to be a gadget I buy then stop using a few months down the line but no, it definitely hasn't been. Such a good little toy, use it every day whether it be for listening to music at the gym or playing games while on the bus.

If i was you id wait for an iPad, but then again its ****ing huge compared to the iPod lol

You wont have to pay for apps, i have no need because my dad pays for it.

It's not just the ability to get apps for free, you can mod your springboard i.e. have 5 icons at the bottom dock, or maybe just the normal ammount with a reflective effect.

You can also add themes and tweaks giving it the ability to run quicker.

A handy thing is, it allows you to download and install apps that aren't on the App Store (Homebrew)

just dont turn it off
as it is thethered and you will have to jailbreak again
