Researching this myself.. going to buy an ipod touch soon. From what i understand is that they all run a lil bit slow.

I go on youtube and search gameplay of them to see if they lag or not

Try to play some of the non graphics intensive games. That's all I know what worked for me. I can't remember any of the games I had though.
