then i put it into recovery mode so i can restore to new firmware i downloaeded and whenn ii do this it goes to neww device software found and then that fails

and now my ipod wont show up on itunes and its stuck on connect to itunes sign
any help

Restore your iPod. Goto You must login or register to view this content. and download the one that corresponds to you/ Then goto iTunes. Where it says Restore, Do Shift + Restore then choose the thingy that you downloaded. DONE! Thank if helped?

Have you tried to put another FW on it? like 3.1.3

did it have a password before you tried all of this

My iPod wouldn't show on iTunes either for some reason. I think I updated the firmware and downloaded a newer version of iTunes and it worked. Try this and if it doesn't work you might have to restore.
