Is there any way I can bring the firmware up to 3.1.3 b.c I have spirit and I've jailbroken my own 2G iTouch w that setup.

Or is upgrading to the 4.0 OS and Itunes 9.2 better?

alritre well i was going to update to 4.0 but then it said it would delete all of his files and I can't do that so how do i backthem up b.c it won't let me drag them or put them in my itunes library?

whenever you sync to your computer itunes makes a back up. So make sure that your friend has synced his ipod recently.

Id use blackra1n, but when you turn off your ipod u have to run blackra1n on it again to turn it on, dont restore ur ipod

You'll lose everything if you restore, and you'll have to resync everything.
