Is there any way I can bring the firmware up to 3.1.3 b.c I have spirit and I've jailbroken my own 2G iTouch w that setup.

Or is upgrading to the 4.0 OS and Itunes 9.2 better?

I'm not sure if you can jump 3.x and go straight to 4.0, but try it. 4.0 is awesome.

Btw, ask him to check his Model. If it starts with MB, he's perfectly fine. If it starts with MC, then it might not work.

and yes it does start w MB, I have it with me atm
