You will lose anything and everything that you got from cydia,rock installous. anything that you have that requires a jailbreak. But on some devices you can jailbreak iOS4.

Wait do not restore from backup either because itll cause problems

can you jailbreak an ipod touch 2g on 4.0 w spirit or blackra1n?

Yes you can jailbreak iPod Touch 2g on 4.0 HOWEVER its not with Blackra1n/Spirit, its with a program called Redsn0w. There is multiple Tuts & videos lying round this section im sure you can find atleast 1.

not for 4.0 but i figured it out and it works.. plus 4.0 os is pretty cool as well

like scouser said stay at 3.1.3

it will say backing up just end that or if u already did itll ask to set up an new device pick that...NO BACKUPS
