Requirements:
1.iPod Touch 2G.
2.Firmware 3.0-3.1.2
3.iPod USB
4.Redsn0w 0.9.2
5.Custom Boot Logo(Optional)

1.First Download Redsn0w 0.9.2 from You must login or register to view this content..

2.Make Sure you have your stock IPSW(IPod Software) A.K.A Restore.

3.Open Up Redsn0w.

4.Browse Your IPSW. If you don't know where it is search for it on your computer.
EXAMPLE:iPod2,1_3.1.2_7D11_Restore

5.Redsn0w will then ask you what type of model your iPod is. Either MC or MB.
MB:You can Change Your Boot Logo. Untethered Jailbreak.
MC:Can't Change Boot Logo and Have A Tethered Jailbreak.

To find out what type you are, MC or MB models, Go to Settings>General>About>Model.

Or

Look at The Back of You're iPod Where You're Serial Number is.
If You're iPod has Four Lines You're iPod is an MB Model.
If It Only Has Two Lines You're ipod is an MC Model.

6.Click Next. If your iPod is already jailbroken but you don't want to do a full restore and you just want a custom boot Logo Check already Pwned.

7.If you want to jailbreak check Install Cydia.

8.If you want a custom Boot Logo I will post a Link to an official Post.

9.Check Custom Boot Logo and find your custom boot logo.

10.After you've checked all the settings and have your boot logo click Next.

11.Make Sure your iPod is connected and powered off. Hold the home and power button together continuously until the redsn0w help message disappears.

12.Just Let Redsn0w do its thing for abut five minutes and then it should reboot to either the custom boot logo or if you didn't want to get a new one the default Apple.

ok im trying to update iphone 2g firmware to 3.1.2 or 3 when i put my iphone in dfu mode itunes pop up with and error message like itunes update server and something bout my connection with itunes and i cant access the store either but my internet is working fine
