I booked an appointment at my local genius bar, because my iPod broke, the reason it broke was because I Had it in my pocket with a half empty can of coke (bad idea) it then obviously leaked, my ipod is also jailbroken, BUT i cannot switch it on and if it does go on the touch screen doesent work and the screen is flicking white on/off, My question is will they still give me a refurbished iPod Touch?

hmm unless they fix it on the spot i think you can get a refurbished one because they wont be able to tell if it was jailbroken

Apple Care does not cover liquid/water damage so my guess would be no. They have liquid indicators inside.

funnilly enough the water indicator is white i think the liquid got through charging bit

Isn't jailbreaking legal now? Unless you went ahead and got installous and downloaded cracked games(like pretty much all of us) you should be fine. Either way, there are also sensors on the inside that tell you if it has water damage. So it wouldn't be covered, plus no Apple warranty covers water damage.

You might hace gotten lucky since it appears that the iPod Touches don't have two sensors like the iPhone. You can always take it in and try and see what they say.

If it was an iPhone you'd be completely out of luck since there is one in the charging port. Pretty lucky. But Apple could have added it to the charging port of the Touch but I cannot find any info besides the locations on the iPhone.
