I know its already posted but the repository part ect. isn't and yes any jailbreak will void your warrenty but just restore if it breaks

It shoulnt..Jailbreaking is now legal..But if it breaks just break it more so apple cant fix it!

There is no need to downgrade and you only need an ipod and net connection .

If he's on 4.0.2 he needs to downgrade as the PDF exploit is patched.
