Alright so I was just using my iTouch like normal and then I opened and app and that I guess caused it to freeze, so I tried going home. Didn't work. Tried to turn the iPod off. Didn't work. Alright so I just held the power button, then both the power and home and then the home and finally, it turned off. But then I when I tried to turn it back on by doing the same thing (Holding home and home and all that) it did not work. So I tried connecting it to my computer and trying the DFU again and again but no luck,iTunes does not even recognize it so I cant really restore it. Any help???
Its an 2g iTouch A1288 model.
It WAS on 4.0 OS and it WAS jailbroken.... anyone know what I can try?
Hmm... It may be a Bad Battery? Go to the Apple Store and show one of the Tech there. You can also call them.
They won't do anything about it because the Itouch is Jailbroken so they don't want to help. I think the ipod is just stuck, there must be a way to get it out and make it respond because my computer is not even detecting it when I plug it in and I've tried with 2 different cables.
1. Check to see if the Hold switch is on. It's located on the top or the bottom of iPod. When it's in the on position, you'll see an orange patch.
2. To turn the hold switch off, slide it until you no longer see the orange patch.
3. Press any button to turn on iPod.
In rare cases, iPod might get into a state in which it needs to be drained completely before it can be reset. If iPod didn't turn on after you reset it, follow these steps:
1. Disconnect iPod from all power sources and leave it disconnected for about 24 hours.
2. Reconnect iPod to the Apple iPod Power Adapter or computer and reset it.
I dont have any suggestions that would help over and above those already posted, but I just had to big up your signature aStoopid_Monkey - tis awesome!!!
Nuff said its dead... lol JK. IDK what you can do srry

on topic; Try connecting it to another laptop/computer if that works you might just have to either update to the newest software and lose your jailbreak or downgrade your firmware again.

It's An iPod Touch, I can't reset it, or atleast I don't think you can reset an iTouch.
