I do that and my ipod comes up with an error so i'm like FUKC!, next day i try plugging in my ipod and my computer (PC) won't recognize it. I continue unplugging it and plugging it back in and still nothing, so i come here to this new section and beg for you to help me so I don't have to go drop 200 bucks on a brand new ipod. Please save my ipod !!!

I don't know but shouldn't you just like put it in DFU mode (idk if its possible with normal ipods too)
By holding the home and power button for 10 seconds at the same time , than releasing the power button and still keep the home button for 8 seconds , than iTunes will probably recognize your iPod and it will say that it's in recovery mode , now just hit restore @ iTunes and the prob should be fixed.
