Hes the one working on an untethered jailbreak for now, it might take some time, so please just dont update no matter how many times itunes begs you. As always, expect an updated version of greenposi0n that supports 4.2 FW on a tethered status, probably in the next couple of days, till p0sixninja finishes it. And again, if you want an untethered jailbreak or depend on an unlock, then PLEASE stay away from this firmware update, its really important and i thought i'd share it with you guys. the exploit used for limera1n&greenpois0n will work forever, until apple updates the bootrom. it's just the program that needs to be updated.

No, 4.2 was out for beta testing and the explit was found 2-3 weeks later. It hasn't been revealed so that it can't be patched before it's release.

Well there was a Baseband exploit, but thats all, as far as a unteatherd jailbreak, there probably is, they just want to keep it on a low level. Apple is really being serious these days.

YES the jailbreak is available but its tethered. thats what has to happen each time, the program takes maybe 1/50th of the effort that goes into untethering it.

Im talking about a unteatherd jailbreak, greenpois0n and limera1n will work to jailbreak any firmware lower than 5.0 forever but it will be tethered

...and that's where comex comes in with his exploit making it untethered.

correct, but that exploit need to be implemented into the kernals and recompiled, thats what takes time.
