I have tried downgrading to jailbreak my ps3, and downgrading does not work, apple has made it so you cannot downgrade any more

The trouble with upgrading is that itunes is telling me that I can't. It says that 3.1.3 is the most current firmware. I think I installed something that made it so that it would do that, and now I can't unistall it because I can't open cydia.

Tried restoring it? If not you may have to go to a computer shop or like break it if it has insurance and you can get a new one.

Yea just update it to 4.0 and jailbreak it using jailbreakme.com. samething happened to me.

happened to me on my 2g on 3.1.3 had the spirit jailbreak it happened because i had a corrupted source and i fixed it by deleting the sources that i had dled recently.

There is a method of doing it that doesn't require rejailbreaking.
