This happened to me and when you try to hold the 'Hold' button, all it does it reset - true.

What you do is hold the 'Hold' button down and the 'Hpme' button until the apple logo resets, then plug it into your computer. Wait about 10-15 minutes and your computer will have a current type of sound that notifies you your iPod has been plugged in. You will see that you're on your Lock Screen on your iPod, just slide to unlock and you're good to go.

PS: I also had to restart my Springboard because I was in some type of 'Safe Mode' so if you have to do that, go ahead and do it - it's perfectly safe.

1. Hold the 'Hold' button & 'Home' button until the Apple Logo resets again.

2. Plug your iPod into your computer and don't touch it, wait 10-15 minutes.

3. You will then get a certain type of sound on your computer indicating that your iPod is plugged in.

4. Unlock on your iPod and you can continue using it.

simple fix.

1. Turn your iPod off (Holding Power Button..)
2. Hold Power + Home Button for 15 seconds
3. Now just hold the Home Button

If done correctly your iPod should have a complete Black Screen, your iPod is now in DFU Mode.

Plug it into iTunes and hit Restore.

Job done :y:
