Post: ll HELP ll My Jailbroken 3G Ipod ll Wont Get out Of Recovery Mode!

(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); I have a 3G ipod touch that i jailbroke in Jan. I restored it so it would have cleaner files. Now it has been almost 2 days and all that shows on my ipod screen is a grey apple symbol. I have tried restarting it but nothing happens. I need help fast and bad! :O

Try putting it in dfu and restore it again

lol i had this problem also except mine was because i downloaded 2 programs that run on top of each other so it crashed, this is what you do if your on windows vista or 7 run notepad as admin and click file then open, the navigate to C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc and open hosts.file and delete the "74.208.10.249 gs.apple.com
" line yours may be different just erase the one that says apple. then save the file and plug in your phone, open itunes and click restore, it should work if not post where you had issues ill assist you further more

I had the excact same problem so i took mine to apple and they said if you have anti-virus running while you are restoring it crashes itunes.

Wait my ipod is jailbroken, will i get fined or go to juvy if i send it in and they find out?:embarrassed:

When i go to that i dont have the host file? Please help?

The only problem is is that i did DFU mode by going to setting on my ipod, then restore and it wont even let me see my home screen. All i see is an apple :(

Oh ok i get it now my bad. When i open hosts up i dont have an apple file?

ok hold power butten till it turns of if takes more then min sorry cant help
