(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); iPhone mania is sweeping the net again as users are clamoring to learn more about the new OS 3.0 beta that some developers are already partaking in. We reported awhile ago that there were some hidden iPhone video features buried deep within the beta (read more here), and today we've come across even more tasty pieces of info for you to snack on while you sit in your cubicle contemplating office-wide slaughter (we've got our eye on you, Chobot).

The first sliver of updates we've laid our eyes on comes courtesy of the boys over at World of Apple, and includes some screenshots showcasing new features for music and podcast functionality. According to the images, users will now have considerably more control while listening to music/podcasts, including variable scrubbing speeds during playback, and the ability to adjust the overall playback speed with 1/2x, 1x, and 2x options. A new single icon offers a one-tap method of rewinding a podcast back by 30 seconds, plus the podcasts themselves will display new sets of data, including run time, time left and publication date.

The next set of features were first reported on by AppleInsider, and include updates such as the ability to close all open Safari windows (currently you can't close the last browser window) thanks to a newly placed red "x" that'll let you replace the final Safari webpage with a blank page. For energy enthusiasts, the remaining battery indicator now displays the percentage of juice left in your system rather than just showing it as a hard to gauge icon, and new push notification preferences allow you to set whether or not you want your push info delivered as a sound, alert and/or badge. Finally, the data detectors have been upgraded with the enhanced ability to better detect clickable text such as phone numbers, addresses and e-mail address while dealing with type, which will activate actions like initiating a phone call or sending a email when the text in question is pushed.

I suggest no one upgrades as of yet, it's so buggy it's not worth it. Plus if you don't know what you're doing your iphone can get bricked easily.
