I'm going to say no my iPod 4g 32gb does just fine on 4.2.1 my iOS from cydia has a few good switchs I have mine set up with no multi task and to end apps when I close it

Depends what you do to it... If you download loads of apps/Cydia packages, then yeah, it will, but there's probably also packages in Cydia which make it last longer... My iPod before hand lasted about 2 - 3 days without charging... Now that I've jailbroken it (with several jailbreaks - therefore it is beast =D) it now lasts about 3 weeks before I have to recharge it...

However, I do not recommend jailbreaking it with several different tools, as this should only be for experience people who are willing to take the risk of destroying their iPod (as the jailbreaks clash and shit like that).
