(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Well, this hasn't been posted before, so, here it goes.

In this thread, I'm going to show you a short & easy way how to dual boot your iPhone iOS with the Android OS.

Disclaimer:
I do not take any responsibilities if this does not work on your iPod or iPhone, or if your iPod or iPhone breaks.

Right, with that, let's properly begin.

Your device must of been jailbroken using one of these 3 jailbreak tools:

  • PwnageTool
  • RedSn0w
  • BlackRa1n

If you fit the prerequisites, then install the following repo repo.neonkoala.co.uk and install Bootlace from it. A new icon will be added to your springboard from which you'll be able to install OpeniBoot and iDroid.

You'll then have a dual boot iPhone. I wasn't able to verify this whole process myself but a couple people told me good things about it. If you do give this a shot, make sure to let me know how it's working out for you.

So far, this method has been reported to work on the following:

  • iPhone 1G
  • iPhone 2G
  • iPhone 3G
  • iPhone 3GS.

I'm currently working on it to see if it works for the iPod Touch 2G.

EDIT: I have just found out that if you download Bootlace and open it, it will tell you if you can install Android on it or not. If you can't, it will say a message saying something like "This device is not supported".

Its a nice idea.. but doesn't work in practice yes you get froyo 2.2 on your iphone but there is no functionality it lags, alot of stuff is broken/doesn't work like the camera there's no market to download stuff from and even if there was i doubt any of it would run. If you want android by an android device Winky Winky really this is just a 'cool' extra to show off with

Android > iOS

Yeah, I know; but don't forget, this is for the iPhone/iPod Touch, alot of things are bound to not work properly as there will be things missing, but for what it's worth, if you dual boot it, it's pretty damn good.

I don't think so, but you can try downloading the app from Cydia, when you try to run it, it will say "Cannot do it on this device" or something similar if it can't.

The points Howard stated above are points enough for me not to do this, so meh.

As I said, you can dual boot it with the iOS, it won't slow down your system at all.

If you don't like it, you can update and then re-jailbreak.

Yes you can dual boot i know that. it wont slow your iOS but the android installed is laggy and slow. more that likely it will take up more ram on the system as well as modding your kernel which may cause problems then if you have have slot on your phone the android will take up valuable space for you and im not sure but it probably partitions your phone so it is able to run it. Smile so one again just buy an android phone Winky Winky and yes you can restore to get rid of it but in my view that's just hassle Winky Winky

Yeah, I suppose so, but for those people who can't really afford an Android phone or whatever; or they have an old iPhone or iPod Touch they don't use, it's worth a try putting Android on there.
