You'll need the following:
1. An iPhone, iPod etc running on 4.2.1

2. Internet connection

3. Usb cable to connect your device to laptop/computer

After you've downloaded Greenpois0n, extract it from the zip file (just right click and select extract)

1. Now connect your device to your laptop/computer
(Make sure device is switched off, not just in sleep mode)

2. Close iTunes if it opens

3. Run Greenpois0n

It will come up like this

4. On Greenpois0n, click on the button that says "PREPARE TO JAILBREAK (DFU)"

It will now look like this

5. Follow the instructions given by Greenpois0n
It will instruct you to hold the sleep button for x amount of seconds, then hold the home button, whilst still holding the sleep button etc

6. After you're done, you'll now be in DFU mode, all you need to do now is jsut press on the Jailbreak button!

After greenpois0n has finished jailbreaking, your device should look how it did before with the addition of a new application named Loader. Open the new application.

Now press on Cydia and install it

After Cydia is installed in your device, it will automatically reboot and once it does you should now see Cydia on your Springboard. Which means you are now the proud owner of a jailbroken device!

Winterboard
Use winterboard to install the themes which you can download from Cydia.
You can change almost anything, from lockscreens to carrier logo (you can even make your carrier logo to look like Batman's logo!)

Installous

All the apps are free in Installous, (but please note that NGU, nor any of its members condone piracy)
Installous is good for installing third party apps that do not get approved by Apple.
Yes, the apps that you have to pay for in the app store are free in Installous, although that is regarded as piracy by many.

Please support developers by purchasing their apps.

SBSettings

Quick and easy settings toggles from within any application.

iRealSMS

Basically what Apple should have done with its text messaging function.

Insomnia
Keeps wifi on when your device goes to sleep

Orbit

It allows you to view all the SpringBoard pages and navigate directly to any page you like.

There are many, many more, but I'm too tired to list them!
I know there'll be others who'll be more than happy to chip in.

Cydia already comes with many sources/repos, but you can add as many as you like, cause theres many things that you can only get from certain sources.

1. Open Cydia, and wait until it reloads and refreshes properly.

2. Go to Manage on the bottom of your screen
