sounds like a wire is disconected tot he screen thus causeing no electricity going to the screen thus when your fingur touches itit makes no electicol response.

seems like a hardware thing. maybe some wires are fried or broken or something, the best thing for you to do is to go out and maybe buy a new one/
fixing it yourself, or fixing to pay for it would be such a waste of time and effort

If you obtained it not to long ago Apple has a 1 year warranty on all products unless the product has been tampered w/ so if you have a jailbreak just fully back up then restore your iPod to manufacture state and tell them the top half is working and the bottom half is not working they should give you a new one then just plug into your computer recover the back up save onto your iPod and wa la everything the same except the bottom part of your screen will be working!

Lol same thing happend to me! Just go to an apple store near you and restore it like 3 times. Do that because they try to detect if you jailbroke it in between the last 3 restores. THEY DONT LOOK AT DATES. i have been through 3 ipod touchs because of jailbreaking

Try more like 90% of the time... As long as cydia isn't on the idevice they can't tell... Due to the fact jailbreaking edits the firmware not the device... The firmware is completely removed during a restore making the jailbreak completely removed... :bat:
