I would like to convert a PDF file to ePub format for reading it on an iPhone.
Is there an online/desktop tool that will allow me to do that?

Do you have a Gmail account? You can save pdfs or pretty much anything to Google Docs and read them in Good Reader without having to convert.
Also, you may try this tutorial about You must login or register to view this content.. Results depend entirely on the PDFs that you want to convert.
