which isnt a problem i can get it out of safemode but its just annoying everytime it happens so any ideas ?

Try deleting Winterboard, then reinstall it, you may need to update it to the latest version :y:

edit: does is crash when winterboard is turned off?

i dont have a theme on at the moment

i did have a winterboard theme on but i took it off and its still crashing

i read about lot of people who have problems with winterboard on iphone 3gs....after it crashes, it goes in safety mode

problem cause:
GeoHotz jailbreak method lacks some patches to the kernel that do not allow the use of Winterboard.

i used redsn0w is that GeoHotz jailbreak? and i deleted winterboard and ask my friend to send me a message and it still crashed

do you think i should jailbreak again?

i hope you have a mac, so you can jailbreak it with pwnagetool, have you?

no i used redsn0w to jailbreak it and it worked i think i might have just installed something wrong along the line

i have a PC BTW

personally, i restore my ipod and rejailbreak it once a month....
try...restore and jailbreak, but after install only winterboard then try to recive a message

I find that Sn0wbreeze works best for windows, as it allows you full control on what you put in along with cydia sources and packages ready installed.

OT: Have you tried uninstalling Winterboard, followed by repeated hard resets, along with a clean install? (just a guess, dont flame my noob knowledge at iOS!)
