It has been out of warranty for a while. I have procrastinated bringing it to the apple store mostly because I do not want to restore and un-jailbreak it. I also don't really want to buy a whole new iPod, even though mine is outdated.

I am wondering if anybody of the forums have had this problem with the sleep/power button, and how it was handled. Also, if you have any tips that would be appreciated since I do not really have much experience with the genius bar.

Nope, they wanted me to buy a new iPod. It's always worth a shot though.

i have the same problem .. i just move the bottom around with my nails and until it works again.
