Ok well since everyone else are being shatheads. To fix this problem you need to un install appSync and Installous from Cydia. After you have done this, install Installous from the official repo. After that check that you also have appSync for your firmware version from the official Installous repo.

If you do not make sure to un install app sync along with Installous, and only un install Installous, then the problem will not be fixed.

If you have any more questions please feel free to quote me. I know this may sound a bit confusing, but I have done my best to be clear.

Everyone saying that using Installous is killing the jailbreak scene are idiots. Installous users are ruining iOS developers because many people are turning there instead of the App Store, losing the developer money. It's all fair to try the game/app in Installous, as long as if you like it, you go buy the game/app from the App Store.

Anyway, on topic, a fix I found was to remove Installous, then remove the Hackulo.us repo. Close Cydia (from multitasking too) then reboot. Go back and re-add the Hackulo.us repo and reinstall Installous.

The reason the API error is occuring is because of JailbreakMe 3.0 - with the jailbreak being so easy to use, many people are trying it then finding out about Installous, in turn overloading the server, giving everyone the API error. Try getting on in off-peak times, or simply wait a few days, or a week or two, and it should be running fine by then.

We're extremely sorry about the "API Error" of the last week. Installous has been off and on due to huge load from new jailbreakers. Thanks to your donations, we could afford to purchase new servers to handle this new traffic! We think we've gotten the handle of things, and we'll be working pretty hard to touch it up as we go.
