alrighty then.. First off let me start by saying.. iPhone 4, iPad 1, and iPod touch 4 are pwned for life... which means they can always be jailbroken no matter what apple does from a software point of view... the only downside is.. the jailbreak is tethered (which means you need 2 re-run the jailbreak software everytime you turn the device back on)... now the jailbreak is only tethered until 1 or more (depending on the crash ect) exploit is found.. As of right now every device is tethered on iOS 5 but the Old MB bootrom 3GS.. The Untethered Jailbreak for iOS 5 wont probably be out till 5.0.1 or 5.1 comes out due to the fact iOS 5 has a good amount of bugs in it especially for ipad 1 users.. Soo expect a software update coming soon but ask on nextgenupdate before updating.. cause from my knowledge saving ssh's is unless now because of a new way apple uses there code for boot-up commands..

There's no untethered jailbreak for now but You must login or register to view this content. for iPhone 4 and You must login or register to view this content. for iPot Touch 4G that tutorials are using RedSn0w and are tethered for now

I jailbroke my iPod (3rd gen) and iPhone4 with resn0w on ios 5, the only problem was on my iPhone, it shut down with still enough battery left, so I couldn't use my phone untill I was back home (and the semi-tethered didn't work for me either) :s
So I restored, but my iPod jailbreak works just fine

Actually a semi-tethered jailbreak has been released. in Semi tethered u can boot your iPhone but cant use any apps obtained from cydia.
And when ps3 was hacked , many people claimed that sony could not patch it and they could install cfw on it again after update. however it was not so . Do you think the same could happen when apple releases another update?
