Also, when new firmware is out, can i download it when i have jailbreaked my iPhone, or do i need to restore it and jailbreak again?

Well first things first. There are no jailbreaks for the 4s or iPad 2 yet.
Is jailbreaking worth it? Yes it is. You can get a lot of free things and u can theme your iPhone with winter board or dreamboard.
When new software is released and u update your iPhone u have to re-jailbreak but u can only do it if there is a jailbreak available for the version you update to.
