without it ever having cydia on it,

however, what i have learnt is that the baseband has stayed at the crappy 04.11.08 due to apple not signing the 4.3.3 files anymore.

is there any other files before 5.0 that apple still signs? as this way i'll be able to downgrade the baseband and have my phone unlocked to any network.

i found ios 4.1, but heard that is for 3gs only

Perhaps if i save the shsh files of the 4.3.3 to bypass the verification and try to restore through itunes shift clicking on the correct file it would install it that way and downgrade the baseband now?

if i turn the phone off, i need to spend like an hour working out how to get it back up and running.
which is very difficult.

and if it's off and i go to try the method above using shsh then i get error 3014 etc 3914
allo these different errors. and now i cant even upgrade it back to ios 5.

i have now bricked my iphone 4

i can not unbrick it, it's constantly stuck in dfu mode. any software used will not help it.

any suggestions or have i ruined this xmas present already? :L

Well first. how did u get ur iPhone to 4.3.3 without ever having cydia on it? Did u use the iFaith method?.. And another thing.. U can not downgrade baseband... Apple stopped u from doing that back in iOS 1.X (not sure of the exact #) I highly doubt u have completely bricked ur iPhone as well.. Plug it into the computer.. and put it into DFU(again) mode... If that doesnt work try using iReb by iH8sn0w... If that doesn't work.. Hold down the home and power button for a minute while its connected to the computer and it probably boot... or atleast the screen will turn on.. If non of these work then i guess were back to the drawing board.. You can also use Tiny umbrella to exit recovery mode.. that could also work
