Notes before you Jailbreak:[/B]

If you have a passcode lock on your device you must turn it off before you do this jailbreak
I would also recommend backing up your device on iTunes before attempting to jailbreak it (i am not responsible if anything happens)

Step by step guide to Jailbreak:[/B]

1. Download Absinthe using the links above and extract the zip file by double clicking on it. Now open up the Absinthe application. If you're on windows right click on Absinthe and run it as an administrator.

2. Make sure your device is plugged into your computer and updated to iOS 5.0.1. Now click the Jailbreak button.

3. The process will take a while, some users have said it took up to 15 minutes so just sit patient until you see the bar completely.

4. Once the process is complete the bar will be filled up and the application will say:
"Almost done - just unlock the screen if necessary, then tap the "jailbreak" icon to finish."
Find the Absinthe icon on your homescreen, open it up and Cydia should begin installing and reboot your device.

5. Now you're device is Jailbroken!

yes, my iphone 4s is jailbroken!

i took me 3 attemps to get it working,

man its always give me A ERROR at the and.. says could not connect to device ? can any 1 help

Annnnnnddddddd my iPhone 4S is jailbroken. If all of you noobs are wondering, no. This doesn't fuck up your Apple product. If you can't restore it to its factory settings, then yes. You've fucked up. But for the most part, if it messes up, just restore it. Make sure it's backed up. Before you send it to for repairs, or anything like that, please make sure you RESTORE IT! Once it's jailbroken, or if you send it in jailbroken, it voids any kind of warranty.

I'm on 5.0.1 see if i upgrade using this will i be ok or should i un jailbreak before udating?

k wait, your on 5.0.1 and want to update? or you want to update to 5.0.1?

I'm on 5.0.1, and ant to update to new firmware 5.1.......also this is tethered not untethered mate fix the title.
