The Daily initially uncovered the existence of an iPad version of the Microsoft Office Suite, this was back in November. Sources now say that the app will soon be submitted to Apple for approval.




The Daily cites unnamed sources as saying that “that the app will soon be submitted to Apple for approval.” They even allegedly scored a hands-on with a working prototype of Office for iPad and found that the app’s user interface is similar to one used by the OneNote app, with a few sprinkles of Metro here and there.

The paper confirms “Word, Excel and PowerPoint files can be created and edited locally and online”. There’s a bit of uncertainty regarding support for other Office apps.

Unluckily for Android users, the mobile version of Microsoft Office is iPad-only for now. If everything goes as planned, Office for Mac should hit the App Store in a week or two.

Pages is pretty much the same thing actually. But it will be pretty neat to see what Microsoft comes up with, knowing Apple they might not even accept the app out of fear for profit loss.

Hopefully it's not overpriced and just like the desktop version. Those are the turn-offs when it comes to app store apps.
