Post: How to Change Spacebar Text [Jailbroken]

(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Tools of the trade:

iFile (Or SSH)
Jailbroken iPhone (I used iOS 5.0.1)
App with a keyboard.

First you have to navigate to /System/Library/Framework/UIKit.framework
Next you will want to find your keyboard file. Mine is Keyboard-en.plist however it differs for languages.
Open that up and scroll to the bottom. You can change more than your space text in here, for exmaple you can change the go, confirm, done text or whatever you want. I changed "space" to "Jim".
Finally you have to respring (rebooting will reset the file).

And voila. You must login or register to view this content.

I've also been wondering if there's a way to change individual keys, I was going to write J I M W A S H E R E across the top. Just because I can, it has no real benefits. So if you want to take a look that would be cool. I tried and failed :p

Wait...so this is a tethered way because if I turn my iPhone off later it will be reset, right? I will keep the searching on this and report if I found anything. :y:

Mine doesn't change after a reboot. Go in iFile and make the permissions read/write for user and read for the other two options. That might keep it from being overwritten. And uhh for a keyboard with changeable keys, you might can find a customizable keyboard in Cydia. You will have to learn a totally new keyboard layout though.
