He has not said whether it is a tether or untethered jailbreak, I am thinking it is probably a tethered jailbreak to start off with. Like he said, there's plenty of work to be done, which also makes me think it's tethered.

Maybe, but this also means:

5.1 Can be jailbroke and untethered
The A5X device(s) (might be used in iphone 5) can be jailbroke
a jailbreak for A4/5 is possible (I think)

I agree in everything except for the iPhone 5 processor, atleast it will have A6 with quad-core. :p
