(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Since the other thread was just a video, I decided to make a tutorial with text which i think is better.

DO NOT USE THIS TOOL IF YOU NEED AN UNLOCK. THIS REQUIRES YOU TO RESTORE TO 3.1.2 PRIOR TO USING, WHICH WILL UPGRADE YOUR BASEBAND!

Instructions:
1. Plug in device
2. Update or Restore to 3.1.2 in iTunes (BASEBAND WILL BE UPGRADED FOR 3G AND 3GS)
3. Close all processes related to APPLE in Task Manager
4. Launch blackra1n
5. Press "make it ra1n"
6. Once device boots up, you should see the blackra1n icon, click on it and then download Cydia (recommended)
7. Enjoy!

Download blackra1n here:

When you turn off or your iPod dies, your device will be stuck at iTunes recovery screen, so the only thing you would be able to do is restore. It all depends on yourself, if you constantly use your iPod and it dies alot, then i wouldn't jailbreak; if you charge it every night, then i would jailbreak, its totally worth it.

If you do decide to JB it, just remember to keep it on at all times.

Ok try this...

1.) Restore your ipod to 3.1.2 (DO NOT SYNC AFTER ITS DONE)
2.) Then try the blackra1n process.
1.) Plug in device
2.) Open blackra1n and press make it rain.
3.) When its done, download cydia on ipod.
