First off, you will want to back up your iDevice, so that you can retrieve any information you may want again, I would do this via iCloud as then you can easily access it again once you are on iOS 7.

Secondly, make sure you are on the latest version of iTunes, if not just update.

Now, you will want to download the iOS 7 version specific for your device from You must login or register to view this content.. I recommend saving it to your desktop for easy access.

Once you have this, download the latest publicly available iOS version for your device from You must login or register to view this content.. And again, save to desktop.

Once you have all of this, just follow the instructions in the video

Enjoy iOS 7 Beta 1 without an activated UDID :y:

Well I personally cannot test this, I have device that can run it, but my friend used these instructions and was fine, so were the people in the comments section, it's like having a jailbreak. There is a possibility of bricking the iDevice but fixing an iDevice is just a case of either a normal restore of a DFU restore.

You can not put them into DFU mode when they brick like this, it doesn't allow you. People don't pay for their UDID to be activated for no reason, when beta 2 comes out everyone will be bricked who didn't pay for it.

Josh - I'm sure Apple will want to cut down on the amount of beta leaks, but look back through previous iOS releases and you'll see the beta's have been leaked over and over and over.

They are not leaked, they are released for devs, and for your device to be seen as a devs device you need to activate your UDID, either through apple ($99) or through a 3rd party ($10), when people who aren't "devs" use these updates they are going to run into trouble, in this case, they can not get back to 6.1.3. When beta 2 comes out all on beta 1 who didn't pay will be stuck.

I understand how the system works. However those "non devs leaks" are what I was talking about... It's not like the old blackberry days when the software would leak out for use.

It's been happening for a while... iOS 5 too. Smile There is a risk in running it, but it appears (based on history) that it's a small risk. I'm not sure why Josh keeps saying everyone will brick their phone. Sure there may be problems, but that's what people do right... review the risk VS reward then make a decision.

I'm just warning people before they do it and come crying to me, or other people who had threads on this, saying their phones stuck on the activation screen and not showing on iTunes. For $5-$10 the risk is severely decreased.

Ah gotcha. Always seems like NGU members have an agenda to make some cash off other members. I apologize for making that assumption. I stand corrected, sir. You might be okay after all :y: high five!
