So, today, I met up with someone at a shopping centre and bought an iPhone 5S practically brand new from them, a 32gb, for $700 cash, usually I’d be like oi let me check the IMEI number first but I trusted her because she seemed nice as fuck.. Get home, I realize that the phone is stuck at activation and that I need the previous owners itunes login, but I see there are ways to bypass that, and I have, but I can’t get into any apps or anything so that’s useless, and another issue is that the IMEI number is blocked. I can’t go to the cops because they’ll probably think I stole it and I have no hard evidence that I bought it from her as communication was via call.. Anything I can do!?!?

You tried re-installing the iOS ?

From what I read there isn't anything you could do since its stuck at the activation lock. Only way to get it working is if you have that lady remove the lock remotely from her apple id (If its even hers). It won't matter if you tried restoring the ios because the lock will still be there. Only way to hopefully remove it is to wait for a jailbreak to come out.

What I'd suggest you do is wait for a jailbreak unless it can already be jail broken. As for selling it (even though it IS illegal) sell it in another country, as IMEI numbers are only region/country blocked, not globally. You can make back most of your money still. Hope this helps.

Your going to have to wait till a jailbreak comes out. That's why I hate buying things like that from people. They can be so cruel.
