Welcome everyone!

Do you want a smart watch, but don't want to pay for an apple watch? I don't know about you, but I don't want to wear a literal piece of expensive shit on my wrist that looks like something from space.... The obvious solution would be to buy an Android Wear watch. Note: There is no official support for iOS on Android Wear. This is one of the better solutions out of the ones I have found. However, if you prefer one way over the other by all means you can do that.

Downloads (All methods require some sort of Android device to get the app on your watch):

  • Jailbroken:
    • Search "Android Wear Utility" on Cydia and install that.
    • You must login or register to view this content.

  • Non-Jailbroken (I use this method even though I have a jailbroken device):
    • You must login or register to view this content. - This brings just basic notifications, music options, and such.
    • You must login or register to view this content. - Brings the basics plus syncing lists from Reminders app and Remote Camera (So you can get in that group picture with the friends you don't have Them feels)
    • You must login or register to view this content.

Steps:

  • Jailbroken:

  • Non-Jailbroken:

    • Aerlink (Paid App):

      • Put the app somewhere convenient considering you will be using it a lot. I put mine in the top left of my homescreen. As pictured below.

You must login or register to view this content.

      • Once the app is open you can now go to your watch. It may ask about having access to a few things like photos (for remote camera) and access to reminders app. Just allow them and continue on. Note: If it shows a prompt like the one pictured below, then just close the app, enable bluetooth, and re-open the app.

You must login or register to view this content.

    • BLE Utility:

      • You are going to get a prompt like the one pictured below, just press ok.

You must login or register to view this content.

      • Switch to the "Peripheral" tab as shown below.

You must login or register to view this content.

      • Once the app is open you can now go to your watch.

    • Android Wear (All steps will be shown below the step itself.)

      • Bring up the menu by tapping the watch face after the watch is awake and scroll down to "Start"

You must login or register to view this content.

      • Find Aerlink and tap the icon.

You must login or register to view this content.

      • Once Aerlink pops up, enable iOS Service and then swipe out of the app from left of the screen to right to close it.

You must login or register to view this content.

      • If you pull up on the notification card it will display the progress and when your iDevice asks for a pair code for bluetooth it will be in the EXPANDED notification card.

You must login or register to view this content.

      • Enjoy!

Note: Again, there is no official support for iOS on Android Wear. This is one of the better solutions out of the ones I have found. There are disconnects periodically depending on your watch. (Moto 360 being the worst to have disconnects, which is the one I have...) Regardless, it makes me happy enough to want this more than an Apple Watch. Apparently You must login or register to view this content. Android Wear connect is better and has an auto-reconnect feature which reconnects really quickly. So hopefully in the future once he releases it, there will be more features and more reliability.
